A Lovers Wish
I lay by running water listening to the moving stream,
and in the washing sound felt my spirits clean.
In cushioned grasses of the velvet meadow grounds,
patience came as I blended with the sounds.
Perhaps in some future time I shall make this my bed,
thinking in pleasant reverie as the water sped.
The colors brighten as morning lights the skies,
highlighting your arrival seen by joyful eyes.
You lay your head lightly upon my quickly beating chest,
I pull you tightly against me as I beckon you to rest.
The breeze plays gently with your flowing raven hair,
as summers sun warmed two lovers cuddled there.
I willed all burdens pressing against your tender heart,
to transfer to a vessel, made from long grass beams.
Then brought the burdened ship to water giving a shove to start,
all concerns voyage away to a place far downstream.
