Yesteryear

Not a day goes by
Where I wonder: What did I do wrong?
To make her leave me
I thought she and I were in love

But I guess I was mistaken
Oh it does not feel like it was yesteryear
When she and I were so happy
I never saw it coming

But she left me on the anniversary
Of both of our first kiss
I guess she needed her space,
I did something wrong, or who knows?

All I know for sure is
She was everything I could have ever wanted
And now it is all nothing
I guess I will never know

The reason why she left
But I guess I will find somebody new
Until that time comes along
I will keep pondering yesteryear
