Vietnamese War

conflict?
i died for that "conflict"
my life's blood spilled on the ready soil
sinking deep into the earth
because to the cause i was loyal

even now,
in this glorified state
the images play on my mind
not images of love
but of bloodshed and of men made blind

Death
it hasn't healed my broken soul
destroyed by what duty required of me
killing my fellow man isn't something i'm proud of
but i did what i had to to ensure the continuance of my posterity

Interesting thoughts penned about a War that had negative results for our country..Many gave their all, many gave their health, many gave up being whole, and many gave years of their life..Great work about it..Thanks for stopping by ...Sara
