Cleanliness is next to godliness they said,
And I don't deny what was well down laid;
So I suggest like them that children be clean,
And godliness will be nigher to glean.
Be clean and promote the image of God,
(Glorified in Heaven with smile He'll nod)
To the clean He comes and lives together,
And makes superb their breath and weather.
Forever be clean and they will not apart tell
When boom's your way or lack befell;
Your honor will stand and dignity hold,
Your call they'll heed be for ruby or gold.
The clean have won the Love and Liberty,
And not as a pauper have garnered property;
They pursue good measure of God given happiness:
Cleanliness is perhaps godliness.
