A Mad Woman, I

A Mad Woman, I
2011, Vickie M. Ortiz Vazquez

To drain thy self of this toxic blood trap my thoughts
Weeks, days with every flow thy feel
No longer beats of strength
Weak I have become
Unable to feel nature’s beauty
I weep uncontrollably
A mad woman, I
Dying within seconds, minutes, hours
A mad woman, I
I can no longer resist the temptations
Control dissipating
Agony
Reality settles in
Not for me any longer
Everyone’s joy except mine
The dim lights struggle to reveal my strengths
A mad woman, I
Thoughts travel nonstop
Rushing without destination
Crash
Crashing
Suffocating with every breath
Gasping
A mad woman, I
Rip thy skin and let thy world heal thy soul
A mad woman, I
No longer
