limits
what are the true limits to poverty, destruction, damage to self-esteem and pain? we as
humans never can truly understand that the moment we feel poor, in essence, we are poor
and will be poor. the difference is hope. a hope in the human race. a hope and self-pride
that comes with knowing our own worth. sometimes it is a thing so fragile that it shatters
until another barrier is formed when we hope again. and by doing thus we are pushing our
expectations further. we constantly ask where is the limit in a world that all seems
limitless, but when we ask that question we must also ask how are we contributing to the
limitlessness of society. Society is a body. all persons must come together to form the
one whole. this implies that the one whole can again be broken down to its sub-atomic
parts to identify individual chinks in the chain mail. and if each of our insecurities
match another, and theirs, yet another, then it is safe to say that like a virus it will
spread, and has spread throughout the generations. our problem goes deeper than a
malfunction as a worldwide- phenomena. it is rather an individual battle within our own
small communities, and even further down to individual persons. the malice and heartache
we all experience stem from the sole fact that we loose hope with ourselves, humanity, and
worry over what we cannot control. we worry over the money in the banks during a recession
and decide we can't spare change for the beggar in the street because in a second we might
be just like them. we fail to realise that despite whether or not we give the money, we
may still end up in the same situation, and wouldn't we want the same courtesy paid to us?
are we so ignorant to truly believe that we wouldn't ever be like them, or is it a lack of
faith. so many times I've heard people say something or another wasn't worth the risk, but
what convinces us that it isn't? our fear of the unknown? our lack of trust in another
human being or ourselves to carry out the task at hand? poverty and pain doesn't end
because we don't believe in ourselves or others not to become corrupted and in this belief
doing exactly what we would be fighting against.
the world that we have created for ourselves is one in which we are virtually safe from
being like THEM, yet our own selfishness eventually dragging us beneath their level.
