“…With time, she felt a deepening sense of regret; a true loneliness of heart…
Moreover, there was total surrender to this pain; forever kept as part of her destiny…
Whenever she spoke of the adoption, in her voice was this seemingly self-sacrificing penance.
In analogy of her coercion, it reminded him of when he too, once stood on same like hilltop;
being struck mesmerized while staring at a lonely snow fence after the falling of a summer storm's rain - or tears…
Eerily, and not of volition, - it was then, when heard were these forlorn and mystic cries that held in the air;
the conjured bring of once empty, tailing winds that rushed thru and past waiting pickets;...
… forever from that day now seen through his eyes as this phalanx of weathered souls,
howling for the cold, cold company charged to their every winter’s keep.”
