Oh Father

Oh Father, from the dawn of me
You were always there
Never once leaving my side
Not a single moment to spare
As a youngster I didn't quite understand
Why you moved so slowly
"Speed up oh Father" I'd say, I've got so many plans
Little did I know, I'd miss your slowly ran race
Back then the years trudged along
Now life is moving at a feverish pace.
It took all these years to realize you're neither fast nor slow
You deliberately move along steadily everywhere you go
I'm too old for you to wait on so I must get up with you lest I stumble and fall
Throughout my carefree phase I paid you no mind at all
Yet you never left me
You only gave me more and more
Of which I am so grateful for
Oh Father Time thank you kindly
