Hidden Colours

Human life beholds many tales,
most are of historic mistakes and of
wrong-doing.
Still change thrives regardless of
our repetitive and inane habits.
The life that grows to dominate
our Mother Earth becomes selfish and greedy
but yet She is forgiving,
still providing a home.
Sadly, the colour of corruption glows
red like the blood-stained ground that
we endlessly create.
History repeats itself only to become
text on another page of something
we consider “just the way of life”;
it never seems to enter our minds
and hearts.
Mistakes are birthed like a new born
child – innocent and pure.
But lessons are never fully learnt.
they become dust within our souls
creating hidden colours that we foolishly
try to hide under a false image of purity.
Human life ought to be seen as precious
but due to these hidden colours we are
destined to become history ourselves.

Everything you have stated here is true, and you have described it well.
