Poormewhininglosersyndrome

Some poets take Soup contests so seriously
If they lose they respond so injuriously

We’re here to have fun; isn’t that really the point?
And a czar of ALL contests, we just won’t anoint

We win and we lose but grow tired of the whining
The stress, grief and tension are all now combining

If you suffer poormewhininglosersyndrome
Just remember the prize you can’t always take home

We all spend a lot of time writing for contests
If we win only one, we should feel we are blessed

We must all learn to eat humble pie now and then
And put an end to brooding like flustered old hens

Heya Diane. Your comment on my poem "Winter-eye-zed" made it so glaringly obvious that I had to add 'indoor' to the spider plants....I didn't want to when I first wrote the poem, but your comment made me realize that maybe I should, so that people don't think I was hallucinating about spider plants growing new shoots in the negative degree snow and ice lol. Thanks for pointing that out to me, even if you didn't mean to!~Chris

This one better not beat mine or I'll go berzerk. For I AM the czar of poetr.........Oh wait, I'm doing it aren't I. Perhaps a little Nyquil In my apple juice will take the edge off. lol

Lofe your title. I agree with the whining bit. I whine about things all day long, so, when I write poetry I want to try and laugh, most often at myself. Face it though, Diane, whining is one of the things that make the world go round. Love, Dave

i'll have to disagree. some contest are wrongly judged. with favorites going to the same contest winners that sponsor other contest. and it is clearly seen by looking at the entries that some of those winners are "Lame". but sence this is the first time some one asked. you asked for it.jhl

Great title, Diane. I think you described the "whining" that we hear so often very wittily. No one can win every contest. There are no czars here, just poets trying to share words and create images. Best wishes in the contest with this clever poem, Carolyn

Haha! Even the title is great. Couldn't agree with you more, regarding these words~Chris

Wow i sense a message here, well Diane i think you may be correct with this excellent rendering. i agree with every word you have written, we need to respect the judges opinion, i know some of what i believe are my best poems usually gets nowhere, yet i get a pleasant supprise with work i'm not sure about. win or lose as you say its fun. Harry P.S Oh by the way, i hope this is for the contest, it is a sure winner! Good Luck
