Desperation
Eyes burning like the veins of a heroin junkie,
the pain surging up in my chest,
sick to my stomach, like some high school flunkie,
failing life, the ultimate test.
Horrors crushing my soul like a boulder,
twisting and writhing with pain inside,
I crumble down to my shoulder,
crawling for a place to hide.
A scream tries to force it’s way out,
my face shows it, but not a sound emits,
I try to force a shout,
but being choked doesn’t permit.
You can’t hear me, but I need a hand,
please come find me, I’m ensnared,
I don’t know how long I can withstand,
I’m crying, alone, and scared.
