Christmas Wreath

19 December 2010

Christmas Wreath

C ircle band of lights indicating halo
H alo of hope to continue the whole year round
R ound in shape flows youthful spirit to ingest
I ngesting strong hold to never separate
S eparation comes when leaves fall and lights taken
T aken from ancestors to mundify
M undify a sagging spirit in a genial abask
A bask we get skylight kindling satisfaction
S atisfaction to be God’s creation in this world

W orld as a whole is the people in raceme
R aceme with flowers on stalks that entwine
E ntwine fresh wounds to heal and feel amorous
A morous display in every life’s threshold
T hreshold for welcoming visitors every hour
H ours countdown soon will be Christmas and New Year to share to everyone

Merry Christmas to all.

The message of the wreath's meaning at Christmas time works so well in an acrostic form, Noel. You did a splendid job for Dr. Ram's contest and I'm sure he'll love the way your poem lifts any "sagging spirits" that may not appreciate the symbolism of the circle of creation. Best wishes in the contest and have a wonderful holiday. Love, Carolyn

oops, sorry, I may have confused you with some other guy who has already written at least two wreath poems. It looks to me now like this is your first one. You must have made the deadline for the contest in the nick of time! Good luck if it's in the contest. See ya, Noel!!

Hey, that is quite a wreath, Noel. Now you have one that is acrostic as well. So is THIS one in the contest?? I think you are "hung up" on wreaths now!! Merry Christmas to you. LUv, Andrea

This is beautiful, Noel! Well-written and I love the way you repeat end line words. This reinforces each word in the sentences. Thank you for sharing and I wish you the best in the contest-if it' for the contest, it will do well! I'm sending you and your family Christmas greetings and best wishes for the coming New Year! Blessings, peace, joy and love, Audrey
