Can't wait to meet the Sea

Rushing down the mountains
It jumps with glee
Can’t wait to meet the sea

Winds through the mountains
Forests, valleys and greens
Fishes and insects sail along
Feeds Animals and Birds with joy

Its color matches the sky
Pure and virgin
Rushes through the land of man
Can’t wait to meet the sea

Man calls it river
Makes it flow like gutter
The sky is polluted
The river matches the sky

Slows down the river
Misused and abused
Where is the sea?

It hits upon a wall
It leaps upon and peeps
The other side, dry and barren
Far away rests the sea

Waits for the walls to open
Feeds the parched lands with bliss
Winds down the offered path
Can it meet the sea?

I love the personalization of the river that you've done here Suresh. Who'da thought that the river would have such deep and wide emotions? Bliss, joy, urgency, patience and impatience, curiosity...a wonderful read giving a whole new perspective of the various ways Mother Nature shows up and expresses herself. Beautifully done.

What a very interesting question you post at the end of your poem, Suresh-- how sad indeed that we create these walls-- I like how this can also be a metaphor-- very compelling read, Suresh -- nikko :)

Suresh, we share a love for the sea and you described the exhilerating feeling it brings to us so well in this poem! Best wishes for a great holiday season, my friend. Maybe someday I'll see you on a beach if I ever get to the UK. Love, Carolyn
