Lonliness

sadness overtakes her step
tall black boots against the world
she's buying long and swishing skirts
skirts of power
wool hip coats with deep pockets
where she turns her gloves around and around
her strides are long for an old woman
her head is bent in lonliness
her mind is certainly lost
nothing is as it was
left alone
no one to speak to
or with
no voice to the stream of self in her head
she swallows now
but she doesnt
see
