There's something strange up in the sky
It's been days since we've seen it
The clouds look growly and black
Is it possible they'll chase it back
The buffalo enjoy the new grass
The ponds the ducks and geese
But me I've been mudded in
It's just like walking on grease
We accept these days of rain
They are a blessing from above
And after these days have gone
They are very scare the whole year long
If we were a thousand or two feet higher
It would then be snow
And then once again
I'd be stuck here at home
My daughter said "just suck it up, at least the wind didn't blow."
I must admit she was right
The new shingles on my roof
Have a hundred mile an hour goal.
Don't get me started on the wind
For the lands where I have lived
Have winds from tornados on down
To not even a little breeze
I was in a couple tornados in Kansas
I'd rather watch than stay in a cellar
But in Wyoming it near knocks me off my feet
And readjusts my car door.
It just came to me
No wonder I do eat
It is the only way
I can remain on my feet.
P. S. The last verse
Does fill my heart with glee
Now I don't have to worry about
The weight you see on me
