Cash Gone in Tax

Cash
Slashed by
Uncle Sam
Hard earned wages
Burned as income tax
Cash gone like blowing wind
Tax is not like sweet vermouth
This is just like pulling hen’s tooth
Tax going up, paycheck going down
Tax man leave us alone—we need a break!

Superb etheree, Joseph! Taxes are wasted by our government. Love the line about "pulling hen's tooth." I guess we'd have to leave the country to get away from the tax man. The behavior and wreckless spending in Washington are sinful. Excellent poem for my favorites! Love, Carolyn

Great lines here Joseph, apt for your country too. You should pay a visit here and see the way things are too - horrendous, people are completely broke. Thanks for noting my haiku. Regards, Déirdre
