At the library
I never really got that
vampire-novel-craze,
or even understood what all
the fuss was about.
That crucial need to read about
how humans were brought
to their demise.
With their lives sucked out
of them.
Deadly perfection.
Pallid skin.
Killer-brown eyes.
Deceiving smiles.
"Piss me off, and I'm having you for my next meal."
I never really found that even
remotely entertaining.
But one thing's for sure:
A myriad blood-suckers trek this earth.
Insidious leaders.
Over-weight fourth grade bullies.
Abusive bosses.
Tobacco companies.
Tabloids.
"Beauty"-surgeons.
Those are the ones with the real fangs.
Yet the variety in this library
disappoints me-
like it always does-
and there are no books
written
about
them.
