Hi Lynette--you sure have a lot of wisdom for a high school girl---yet another write of yours that wowed me--really liked the tone that you set in this poem too--:) btw really glad you liked my math story--yeah, that's what so funny, never in my wildest dreams did I think that there was a tear in his pants! I'm sure you are going to have much even funnier stories in college! --nikko :)

Interesting write from the perspective of a mother watching her daughter die and a daughter watching her mother die. It was hard being there when my mother died for she had cared for me from the time I was eighteen months old when they adopted me...She had even cared for me before that when she had seen me but I was not hers...She died peacefully over several days just slowly went away at age ninety-six and eleven months...Sara

It is clear that you do have an "old soul," Lynette, and that your mother and you shared a very special connection. This is so deep and meaningful. Breathtaking, really. Amazing how your spirituality always surfaces so gently and naturally in your poetry. Love and admiration, Carolyn
