Unborn Roses

June roses, a dream still unwakened
A joy, a gift not yet discovered
Sleeping, breathing and yet still dormant
Curled up in a bud yet to be reborn
Made by angels who chose the pink
And petals soft as a baby's kiss
Mixed the scent from their heavenly gardens
To bring forth when afternoons again shone the summer
