What I See

If it’s really what you want.. to move on and let go of me
I’ll respect the way you feel, even though I strongly disagree

Let me talk to you Baby… And tell you what the naked eye can’t see
Some times feelings have a tendency to lack authenticity

Thus creating an atmosphere of the infamous ‘FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY’
Judgment gets impaired choices are made irrationally…

Based solely on the negatives, perhaps unknowingly,
Nevertheless, either or naivety is naivety

The aftermath - an optical illusion roadblocks the path of destiny
I am not after one thing Baby... You just misunderstand me

Some things cannot be explained but sometimes they do not have to be
For instance this thing going on between you and me

Love might be absent but perhaps only momentarily
Passion & Lust is often sufficient 2 cover for love’s deficiency

Keeping the flame lit during this current stage of immaturity….
Yet If it’s really what you want.. to move on and let go of me

I’ll respect the way you feel, even though I strongly disagree
I just wish for one moment that you could to see what I see
That this song will have a sequel… until then T.B.C.

How right you are about the tendency to make snap decisions that are not based on fact, but fleeting emotions, Larry. But all you can do is respect the lady's feelings and hope that time allows her to see what she's missing. Your poem is very moving. Well done! And where have you been? Haven't seen you here for a while. Hope all is well with you. Love, Carolyn
