Alone as the eerie trees creep closer
and as the serene blue sky darkens to grey
as clouds extingish every source of light.
The darkness stalks the stillness around you
silently watching, silently waiting.
You spin around and around searching for a way out,
but despite your effort you do not prevail.
Desperate you try to call out, yell, or scream,
but no sound echoes from between your lips.
With uneasy hurried breathing and a rapid heart beat
you search the darkness for the hungry prying eyes
you feel devouring you as they crawl across you skin.
Nothing, the blackness consumes all possibilities.
You blink, but nothing changes, nothing is still there.
Something knocks you to the ground taking your last breath
and you close your eyes for a moment, gathering courage.
When you open them again the light has returned
and an out stretched hand hovers above you patiently.
You gaze up at it curiously for a while
and then you smile
You're not alone after all.
