Change The Mask

I’m always there, the mask of bravery
	steeling your spine,
fixing a smile on your face
Then suddenly I turn and
I’m the Protector,
	claws slashing
		teeth snarling
Then the Comforter,
	soft and soothing
Then the Sentinel
	stoically keeping guard
with the Brave mask not far,
			...not far
				lingering below the surface
Sometimes you feel
you’ve worn this mask of Bravery
so long it won’t come off,
and you wonder,
Where is the Dreamer?
	The Poet?
		The Child?
			The wild impulsive Spirit?
They’re here...
	Just waiting for you.
Be Brave
 		....change the Mask.

Trudy, I know how this feels from beginning to end. I am a mother and a sister that raised my two little sisters. So yes I know how it feels to wear all of those masks. This is an absolutely beautiful write. Hopefully you will come back to us soon. Lots of Love, Misty

I like your layout, like to use this wandering style myself. The mask is a good subject for introspection. You've stirred up a nice bit of emotion with this one. Give us some more. I'm a fan. Love, daver
