The sunlight reaches my face
through the branches of the tall, thin pine trees
I hear you laugh from behind me,
it surrounds me.
Running with all the strength of my childhood years.
My heart sinks for a moment
when i think of life today
i don't dwell on the pain
i run faster and let the warmth from the light embrace me.
If i run fast enough maybe I'll get away
Maybe my mother will catch me and hold me in her arms again...
like a child
here with my dog beside me he guards me.
I have to stop now
i'm tired from running
i have to walk my life,
i have to walk it without you.
