What's in a name

How would you feel if I told you my name,
and you exchanged it for titles, of it you felt shame.
From Genesis through Revelation, it’s been pronounced
seven thousand times with my righteousness announced.

Then, Jesus restored the use of my name.
To me he gave glory, as that’s why he came.
I am His Father Who is so proud of him.
He prayed that my name be made holy again.

Sadly once more, false teachers abound
Who will soon be silenced in the cold ground.
So, all you people who call on my name,
It’s Jehovah, or Yahweh, one and the same.

(Just want to clarify that the Bible translators have replaced the tetragram, YHWH wtih titles
so that many don't know God's name. However it is not wrong to use titles in worship)

Hi Susan! Interesting you and I have the same name. So fearful of that false prophet that many will follow. Yes, Jesus restored the name of God and His Righteousness and the False Prophet will mislead many from him. Love, Susan

I think the bible has been changed much. We've lost a lot of the messages due to translation. I'd like to discover the true words one day. Great write.

Of course you are right, so muh gets lost or changed within transcription from one language to another let alone an older vesion of that language. This serves as timely reminder what with Easter approaching many will treasure such informative detail. A thought provoking write indeed, well done. Thanks for your kindness of comment on my own writes... Kindest thoughts, Anna-Marie.

This is a beautiful poem. Yes, maybe 'awful' is not the right word, maybe 'slashing' against a soul... Regards,

How beautiful the One who inspired you to write this majestic poem, Susan. Of all the subjects there are to write about in this life, there remains nothing that compares to the beauty of writing about Him. Is this not so ? May He continue to bless your pen as you continue to bless others. Lightwalker

Reading your poetry this evening, Susan, has been a wonderful way to relax and enjoy myself. Thank you for writing this poem. Our lord and savior, Jesus Christ...Jehovah of the old testament, is a marvelous soul. I can hardly wait to see him again. I am grateful for His teachings and for His love. (And thank you for your comments on my poetry as well.) Have a super Day! Lovingly, Dane Ann
