Angels and Aliens

With the Biblical accounts of angels
Regarded by some as proof of aliens

Science and religion remain at odds
One says the other has no faith in God

Is there no room in Earth’s family portrait
For both sides to speak, not one view omit

If we believe God created all things
Can’t this be said of other-world beings

No life’s threatened by angels or aliens
So mocking of either just makes no sense

When God created both heaven and Earth
Perhaps a new species of life gave birth

In another part of His Milky Way
And, in friendship, they visit us today

Appearing from the sky basked in white light
Celestial creatures laugh at the sight

Of scientists and theologians
Pitting God’s angels against God’s aliens

And man’s ignorance they may deride
Since angels and aliens thrive side-by-side

Hi Carolyn. It is good to keep an open mind and we have so much to learn about the universe. My son is a physicist and we have many debates on this issue. God Bless Phyl

if aliens had the ability to travel to visit us that would make them more advance, which would kinda signal to me that they were created first, but i do agree who's to say that god didnt create us both! just like who's to say if adam and eve weren't more ape like than human like, who knows there is a world of knoledge for us to seek and i think that was God's real gift to us great write i enjoyed thhe point of view! =) jo

Carolyn I don't think I've read any where in the Bible that we are the only planet that contains life. I have read that He created the Heavens and the earth. It is a mighty big universe. Blessings my friend. Ron

Carolyn, I used to be so sure I knew there were no other life forms off this planet. Now, I'm not so sure. In my opinion, if there are off-world intelligent beings (whatever that means :) and if they have the capability to get here, then their technology is so advanced that, in my humble opinion they probably run this planet. Thats an opinion which could change by me reading another book lol. Very thought-provoking poem and good too. David

Another gem, Carolyn! How could we be so arrogant as to believe we are the only ones in God's great universe? - Tim

Maybe aliens are Willy Nelson's "angels flying to close to the ground" :)Sorry Carolyn , couldn't help myself! -Like and understand your poem. Robert

Well, I actually believe that religion and science should be harmonized just as mind and body should be harmonized. If God is the creator, He is the first scientist. I believe that it is fear that creates interpretations of spiritual messages that are supposed to enhance life not constrain it and not for the purpose of creating walls of division. The future will tell. A great write, Carolyn, thought provoking couplet. Loved it. Best wishes, Caroline.
