dog

she was as wide as she was tall
her pride would never fall

a pat on the belly
she turned to jelly

sleeping by my door
spreed out on the floor

on her back in my lap
to big to slip through the gap

20 pound of my cat...
dog she wasn't that

colored black and white
like a clear winters night

a white mustache under her nose
white fur on all of her toes

black running down her legs
flees causing her fur to go to rags

waiting for me after work
never passing up a toke

despising any closed door
not caring we were poor

a friendship never to be replaced
knowing i will never forget her grace

good bye fat cat

This love for your cat is so obvious. Did she run away or pass away? Wherever she is I know she'll never forget you, John! Peace, Audrey
