puttin' out the tree...

takin' down the Christmas tree,
what an awful mess!;
needles scattered here and there,
a pain in the butt, i must confess!

tangled up in lights i fall,
ornaments crash to the floor;
a faceful of pine i'm kissin',
i couldn't ask for more!

no one attempts to help me,
some had the nerve to laugh;
i'm smellin' like pine and funky sap,
boy, do i need a bath!

a delight you were for the season,
on the curbside you must go;
next year, it's back to the tree lot,
once more your beauty will glow!

    After many battles (defeated) I might add, I have resorted to an artifical one. Believe it or not, mine had started to shed and I battle putting it back in the box. I guess we will just have to except thegood with the bad. Great Poem! Milton. Lainie
