Color Me

Color me with the various hues of life
Many colors to chose from showing pain, love, strife
A splash of pink so meek and mild
Hint of purple-passion-feelings intense and wild
Dash of red for love and some for desire
Paint me orange the shades of ones inner fire
White means the virtues of purity
A tad of yellow shows humility
Shades of blue represent cool-calm and sad
Slight sprinkle of black depicts evil-dark-bad
Brown shows all the earthly good so somber
Hues of every shade fills me with awe and wonder
A wee splattering of green depicts this Irish Lass
Uneven paint brush strokes shows that I have sass
This life-like painting that depicts who I am-me
So many shades and hues--for the world to see

this is such a fun read, Mary, and I love that line about a splattering of green (I have that too) and the uneven brush strokes! I have quite a few of those!!! This reminded me of a poem contest I did several years ago, "color me" and we had to write what color we were. Gosh, with all these poems making me remember poems from my own past, how will I choose which to show next? Luv, Andrea
