Shivers canopy the foggy dreams, smoke arises far from pines
where a stranded tourist light up blaze in shaky craze
flakes fall in humility soft, descending from heavenly loft
padding the earth with peace foam, crushed and dashed under feet
the white is grey and yellow and no longer mellow but hard
in anger it falls in hail and sleet!
Cracked and lazy are limbs, they wish to stay where they are
blood frozen not helping by far, lips chopped and skin out
lover gives an aloud shout, they meet and warm
embrace and stay, heat criss crossing and that way
they stay for long, gas running the fires, warming inside
they watch through a hazy glass, the tall and up church spire.
Not wanting to venture forth they close the doors, stay in arms
pretty warm,a coffee along, with rum dash on song;they soak the heat
made by them for them, pretty and bold, and they beat the cold.
