Obscurity in the twilight hours

it’s a rainy night
on the streets of your heart
dark angel
and I am a vagabond
wandering its boulevard

my unclad feet slide
feminine
over its saturated slopes
sliding
stumbling its flooded surface

your wide wounded wings
and damaged spirit
like fat blanketing droplets
coiling my surface
and scrawling thunder
in calligraphy
down my aching skin

seeking asylum
in the refuge of my love
eternity bound
the scatter of black heaven
bursting
like midnight drizzles

a chilled whisper
on my damp wind
I huddle here
my naked toes
inside your lightning pools

my journey bared
in the whipping sting
the highway here
inside your chest of sorrow
is drenched in downpours

me…hungering
within its four walls
dark angel of my soul

it’s a rainy night
once again
I wander these torrid avenues
no escape
when addicted to the storm

The imagery moves into darkness and yet touches the edges lightning coursing brightly. Very well written poem filled with moving imagery that ends with double, or triple meaning. Excellent. Chris.

To the addicted and afflicted I hereby recognize the pain and agony thus noted. Storms can be so exciting but I like to harness the adventure and say when it begins and ends. Do the heights of pleasure ever compare to the depths of pain? Miss ya m'darlin

Well hello dear Christie! Where on earth or in heaven have you been? You equate love or loss of love with some dark angel. Great! Pardon if I've missed the point. As usual you are filled with passion, but there is a heap of love present also. BIG LOVE, daver

Brilliant, compelling writing, Christie. It's so nice to see you posting again. I am here but a moment and gone again, but I saw your comment on Daver Austin's poem and found this gem when I clicked on your name. I think many of us have the "hungering" of a dark angel in our souls. Extraordinary poem! Much love, Carolyn
