Covered by Snow

Orange, yellow, red leaves- scattered wet.
Snow fall, icy cold, encompassing the black sky.

Winter in its haste buried him again.
A crisp, solid tightening of the heart.
Entirely in pain…your last tear fell- on the dawn of a November day.
Pangs flush your face red.
Memories of yesterday.
Pictures of his solemn face,
An eerie knowing in the iris’ of his eyes.
His life frozen in time- at age twenty one-forever young.
Now the other side waits idly by. Now that death is alright…
Because of him.

You wash in sin; excusing wrong with wrong done unto you.
Walled, barred- still hopeful. I cover you with my love.
The breaking, the restoring, the breaking, the restoring- ever more.
As the sky roils,
The storm clouds cover…on the day your tears fell.
