the body

do you know
what it is to wait
in a cell
standing room only
all i can do
is watch
the guards pass by
flip a coin
is it head or tails
i'm going blind
the only ones
to tell me to
brake free
are people i don't want to be

Awesome, John. It can be taken on several levels. From the title, however, I think of man's incarceration in his own body as his spirit longs to be free. Excellent write! Love, Carolyn
