About This Poem

Without a Kiss

I smell your cologne at my front door

Memories of you leaving hard in my head

Never enough time for words to be said

When the one you love isn’t there anymore

My ego is bruised and sore

My heart bleeding red in the mourning

From the emptiness of the night before

No goodbyes, only a well wish

And you disappear into the mist

Of my yesterday

without a kiss

Standing here with my wounded pride

Wondering do I have anything left inside

Just how do I erase

the memory of your face

your touch and your embrace

And the smell of your cologne at my front door?
