King of the Circus

Dull, impure personification overcomes thee
Time over time, overlaps into solitude
Thy eyes of courage, ego and power
All within despair, it withers away

Roar, a lion’s egocentric bellow
Quivering the ground’s serenity
Fear of the lion’s roar for its empowerment
Shall rule thy land without hesitation

Time over time, obvious predictions are settled
Fear cannot degenerate into respect
For if the lion’s den comforts your stay
You aren’t welcomed into his throne…

Tranquilizer darts – so sleepy, so numb
Cry, a lion’s desperate bellow
Man has stolen the king of the jungle
Death to ambition, thy throne is spiked.

Dull, impure personification overcomes thee
Thy eyes of courage, ego and empowerment
Fades into a spiral of depression and solitary
The king of the jungle is now the fool of the circus

The king of the jungle is now monkey entertainment

I’ve lost everything.

wow, I actually was rooting for the lion... if its truelly human god will help him no matter what the world says... feel me? I hope you are alright... just keep silent and you will never be a monkey... Feel me? enjoy your day. :)

How sad it is to think about the powerful lion being captured and displayed for entertainment purposes. This personification can certainly relate to the human condition as well, Sami. One day, we are on top of the world and the next, we are victims of others' greed and ill intentions. But you haven't "lost everything." You will always have a poet's soul! Love, Carolyn
