Emotions

Can I tell you all that is real
about the emotions that I feel?
I feel happiness like the sun,
joy so bright and fun,
anger like the storm,
nervousness that wrecks the natural form,
excitement like that bouncing ball,
sadness without light
like the darkest night.
Ups and downs come into life
with emotions like a knife.
Many times you wonder why.
I have to sit and sigh.
Now I told you what I feel.
I hope you know what is real.

God's love is the reality, I couldn't resist telling you my perception of what is real. Very well balanced lines, and good rhymes, in your poem, good! keep them coming, thanks to you for gracious comment "The Three Salesmen", but did you collar the dollar? love Moses

Shannon.. Life is full of objects, events, situations and ideas which merely adorn a day until we (singly and severally) sense and eternalize them. We animate them with our emotions and that is when the sparks fly.. Great read and thanks for an inspiring introspection that seems as eternal as time itself... ~<><

Very nice use of similes to describe your feeling, Shannon! I know it's real...but...I'm worry....all at the same time? : ) Keep sharing. Ruben.

Clever, clever poem Shannon. Poets on ocassions have minds that write words that appear as emotional enigma's. The writer knows what they are writing, it's up to the reader to decipher. This is what makes us all special in our own little ways. This poem is an example, but thats just my view, terrific write all the same, power to your pen>>James

'I hope you know what is real'can give you a lot of mileage ifyou work with it.It sounds like for you emotions carry the biggest weight of reality because they're experienced firsthand, even moreso than whatever event triggered them. The sadness can cut through theheart like the knife you describe, but then the joy inyou is perfectly capable of overcoming it ifyou choose to do so.What I personally think is real is the 'happiness like the sun',but not the other ones, which are meant to cover over it.
