Ride the Fence
Here I stand on top of a fence,
can’t make up my mind in my defense.
Looking left then looking right,
wondering if staying would cause blight.
Maybe I can just stay where I’m at,
walking the fence with grace as a cat.
What if I let someone else decide,
as I put my opinion aside?
Would that save me the trouble,
and help me stay in my bubble?
For I can’t let anyone inside,
or my entire world would collide.
I could make my own decision,
but then that might cause division.
What if my decision is wrong,
would the road be extremely long?
This choice that I have to make,
is heading straight for a mistake.
So here I sit on top of this fence,
trying to rely on my sixth sense.
Planting myself not making a move,
changing nothing trying to improve.
