Pockets of Dreams

Pockets of Dreams

Empty pockets filled of hopes and dreams
Yearning to feel the touch of moneys many men
Wishing to taste salts of audacious seas
Wetting of aroused dreams and curiosities
Pondering a poor man’s hope
Knowing a blessing awaits miles away
Tired of freeloading lint and vacant wishes
Yet trying stay strong,
Naively believing there’s magic left on the banks of Mississippi’s delta
Believing there’s magic left in me
I promised my pockets they will be filled
and they will

Hard times write here, James !! When was there magic on the delta? When the gambling boats were running? Don't know much about Mississippi except for a town I was detoured to one time called Tallelujah (or was that in Alabama?) ... anyway it was all heartbreaking when I went through ...
