To All Women Battered by Brutal Men.

To all women battered by brutal men
Cast not the blame at the foot of heaven
The dyed cloth by brutality stained
Shake that rag in demon's lurrid face
The summons writ for him disdained
By God and the better virtues of the race.

Then come down to the spiritual waters
Here, find balm for wounds and craters
Of flesh and faith, the Creator's love await
Your witness to the truth of sin
Swing wide your forgiveness like a gate
Let his words flow where pain has been

For he who made you, his little flower
And brimmed the bee in your fragrant bower
Was not intent that a petal should fall
From pedacle or heart bruised to tear
But promise one day, it shall worth it all
Glory restored from winds of despair.

A gentle, comforting and beyond beautiful tribute to those poor tortured souls who have had to endure such hardship. Your words, a soothing balm in itself. So compassionate and kind of you. Love, Shar

A wonderful write, so full of hope and peace. Your gentle spirit shines with kindness and compassion for others. You bring light and love to so many. I love the subtle reminder of forgiveness in this write. Not just forgiveness for the abuser but for the victims self as well. Well done. Great to see you back on. Smiles from Lolita

This wonderful poem moved me deeply, Shango. Women who are brutalized have difficulty finding forgiveness, and often they allow such experiences to close their hearts forever. I do believe that God's glory will one day restore them from the "winds of despair." Very powerful message that needs to be read! Love, Carolyn
