Wonderful write here, Tamra. I think it is a Senryu however which is the same as a Haiku but more about human foibles while a haiku is just about nature. The Senryu is the same 5,7,5 syllable count. You do have mention of the hurricane though so I'm not sure which form it can be ... LOL ... I have a poem called Gossip here at the Soup also ... smile ...

How do you do it? Hurricane's eye words...the silent stillness unhearing all caught by your words. Beautiful way to send understanding about deafness. Keep writing.
