The Skipping of Stones

Walking the shoreline Of the tranquil-jagged coast, As the surge crashes. * As the surge crashes I pick up a flat-smooth rock; I cast it to sea. * I cast it to sea With an impulse of seeing, The skipping of stones.

Raul, this is really awesome. Man, I dig how you start the next stanza/senryu with the last line of the previous one. I am going through some people's older poems and checking them out....in a weird kinda mood today. I entered a poem in your Tupac contest, that I wrote from my heart with some anger....I know you are looking for something completely different, but your contest inspired me in writing a 'non-winning' poem. Chris.

I thoroughly enjoy the crafty use of hyphenated statements here, Raul! There's a palpable sensation of erosion, as if the babble of the water is eroding your tensions. Excellent pen, my friend! Warm regards, John.

I like your expertise with the choka ... the form also reminds me of parallelism in Jewish poetry. A little bit more subtle there, but the structure of all the Psalms.
