Drowning in the bottom of a glass

Drowning in the bottom of a glass.
It is how I like my time to pass.
Alcohol is the woman I lust,
being together is a must.
My wife said that I was so lame.
The marital problems, alcohol was to blame.
Because I succumbed to that liquid whore.
She had enough and showed me the door.
Everything was lost,
did not care about the cost.
I was left broken down, living in this gritty part of town.
Today, I sit in this bar, getting pretty drunk so far.

this is a good poem but quite a sad story, alcohol can destroy many lives but many people who drink still have good hearts, one on my friends is an alcoholic and they have a beautiful caring heart, circumstances lead us to many things, when my life was broken I turned to God and have never looked back regardless of what people think, he is my life line my ancor in times of trouble, my strength and my everything, my heart goes out to you, best wishes from diane
