Life and Death

The crowd gathered round
to see the baby after it was
born, while a little ways down the
hall one laid dying and left all alone,
such a shame I dare to say,people
not thinking it could be them one day,
I asked my Lord how could this be,
their too busy with self was His reply
to me.

This is sad. No one should die alone. True to the word, people are too busy with themselves to bother.

Wow, Marie, this poem sums up the thoughtlessness of mankind so well! When my father was dying, nurses said most seniors have vew visitors. Imagine that! They were surprised so many loved ones surrounded my elderly Dad. Dying alone must truly be awful and you brought that message home here. Love this! Carolyn

New life brings a crowd, while the elderly lay suffering, and dying all alone.....always, Christy

Oh Marie this is too true and I have done it myself. It's so easy to get so caught up in ourselves and our own obligations. Nice writing.

I think when we reach a certain age or state of health, people tend to shy away from us. It is so much easier to remember someone in good health than to have a negative image of that person. I know it was hard for me to see my granddad before he passed away, it really broke my heart, Blessings, Ron
