About This Poem

Red Tulips

Owing you a letter,
No time,
A postcard for now.

I picked the one with a bright red tulip,
I thought about your yellow ones,
The ones with red streaks.
They sound beautiful.

My tulip plants have two buds.
One bloomed
But was sun bleached pink,
The other didn’t open at all.

The drought still takes it’s toll,
Even into spring.

Oh for those tulips. It's -4 and windy in North Dakota. With a bunch of snow, we probably won't have an early spring. Thanks for making me smile with this one. I enjoyed. Thank you also for your kind words regarding my poem. Keep on writing! Karen

Oh Judith, there is such a feeling of sadness here. Your poetry is as excellent as ever. I am waiting on your happy heart songs so I can feel you smile. Still, please just keep writing it all out, as you are such a talent and such a joy to read. Love & hugs, Shar
