The Song Writer

You look deep into his eyes,
you see he's witnessed a lot,
he's tasted good times pleasures,
the taste sometimes to his loss.

His mother she disowned him,
said son you've darkened my door,
your presence is no longer needed
go away, don't shame us no-more.

With a heavy heart breaking,
a head that was scuffing the ground,
he picked up is battered old guitar
and headed for nashvilles sound.

To cut a long story short,
the man is a genius to word,
he chased his dream like a dragon,
he persisted until he was heard.

'...he persisted until he was heard,' ...yeah! It seems the best songwriters have suffered somewhere along the line. A great piece Ann! Love, Keith

"I have seen the morning burning golden on the mountain in the sky...and loving him was easier than anything I'll ever do again..." There, a Kristofferson line. Sing it one more time, for the good time! Kath

This sounds like a real story about someone who's music, perhaps we have all heard? Nicely done in the poem, Ann. ~ Carrie

Now you have me curious. Of whom do you speak? I love Country music! You have to living where I live. Why do I feel like the clues lie within? Great quatrain. Love Christie
