First Taste.

Looking glass eyes,
Of burnished shadowed souls.

Seeing entirety,
Beholden of nothing.

Ever pursuing,
Yet a failing of discovery.

One moment comes,
Catching those mirrored eyes.

A hushed moment,
Forever etched in eternity.

Crystalline shattered,
Scattered splinters of time.

Silent air hanging,
Weighing on unspoken lips.

The soft rhythmic pulse,
Of an unfettered heart.

A first tasting of love,
But feared and left behind.

A lot of years ago comes to mind with this enticing poem Charlie. I am glad we never get to old to think of these tempting poems. God Bless, Cile

this poem is a clear manifestation that a painful failure beats the hell out of never trying or even a lightyears better than not trying even a single thing. indeed a cleverly written poem, with much respect and adoration, GiNo,18

We often think about what we could have, should, would have done. We must seize the moment. Great write.

Nice use of imagery in this poem. It's great having The Soup up so that we can share our poetry again. Keep up the good writing. Have a nice day! Karen
