Invisible Angels

Invisible Angels
Prayer walkin’ downtown,
The sounds of angels to guide me,
I pass the visible, happy, drunk, but hopeless,
And on the side, in the corners, in the stench of derision,
I see the invisible, the invisible with cups adorned with humility, begging for coins of righteous indignation,
Perspiration grips me, but the invisible children, sitting on the side of the road,
They strengthen me, for in their weakness I see the hope of a new tomorrow,
And in their strength I see the fiery judgment of revolution,
What you have done unto the least of these you have done unto me,
What have you done to the least of these?
Righteous trees, I rarely do unto them as I could, as I should,
What you have done unto the least of these you have done unto me,
But I see, At least, I see,

    A joy to read an oldie by one of my favorite poets Woody. Love, Carol
