Duluth's Winter

Hither and thither-
of planks of bark!
and ruffled ground
with bittery spark.
The silver pool
of dead old leaves,
bites a colden wound
'neath the shrubs
and trees.

And timber wolves
will rouse the snow-
and their coal nose will
sniffle the deepening low.
The ears will curtsie,
held within their paws.
Its Duluth's landmark
of winter's sufferage law.
