American Delight

His words he left behind
They are always by my side
In a little notebook I keep
With me all the time

His inspiration was deep
Unlike any other
I have read Shakespeare
And I have read Allan Poe

None like the simple man
That speaks with simple words
They are small yet holding
The greatest meaning of all

The man of San Francisco
The true American delight
A small cup of tea
While you read his poetry in the morning

Schools and libraries
Speak of his name
A teacher of teachers he was
"Good morning, Mr.Frost"

He is the taste of life
That will never seize to exist
He will never be forgotten
I'll choose him as a star

He often talked of his butterfly
And left us with A boy's will
In words of his own I say
Nothing gold can stay!
