A Walk From Reality

oh how my heart mourns
for dancing in the twinkling stars
             Atop the milky way
                  where peace enters my mind
Worldly matters are far from here
        the glimmer of the moon
lights my path
           a walk from reality
                 amidst the dewy clouds
distant voices still call for me
tugging my soul back to what I know
but for a moment I was there
                                           free, uninterrupted, alone, ME

Seasons of Change

Swift stirring spring
Brilliant blooming buds
Soaring soothing sun
Fiercely falling floods

Soft soothing summer
Warm wandering waves
Sunny salty seaside
Careless conscious craves

Alluring active autumn
Lovely looking leaves
Dimmer days develop
Gangly grass grieves

Whirling winter wind
Bitter bulky breath
Softly sailing snowflakes
Daintily dwindling death

Thanks For the Memories

A frail old man peers through his window and sees,
wind dancing the branches on the tall baron trees.

Distant memories flood his mind,
of the loved ones that have left him far behind.

A mother, father, brother and wife,
all preceded him through their journey of life.

The branches remind him of his wedding night,
swaying to the music holding his beloved so tight.

A bird chirps a melody and a new thought appears,
of his mothers sweet lullaby’s all through the years.

He sees clouds get heavy and dark steals the light,
it's the time when father said the fish would best bite.

Two squirrels play madly in the leaves on the ground,
he thinks of his brother who was always around.

As he turns from his window and a tear leaves his eye,
he thanks the Lord for the memories that help him get by.

Megan

You are my daughter forever in my heart,
maybe not from birth, or right from the start.
Sometimes you may doubt if my feelings are true,
but when I hear the word daughter I always think of you.

You came to me in a special way,
I will never forget that bright sunny day.
With long golden hair and eyes vibrant blue,
I knew without question that I would love you.

So quickly you’ve matured right in front of my sight,
A beautiful young woman you’ve grown up just right.
Remember a mother’s love is not something given at birth.
It is something that grows and earns it’s own worth.

So my dear sweet Megan as time goes by,
Never doubt how much I love you or wonder why.
My golden hair daughter with eyes vibrant blue,
God brought an angel to me when I met you.

I Am

Emotionless pit, endless fall
To the depths of insanity
I crawl

Timeless confusion, reeking decent
Can’t find my wits
I am bent

Lost feelings, numb mind
Destination unknown
I am blind

Goodbye Grandfather

You left us alone,

we had more to share.

I never told you goodbye,

or how much I care.

One day you were here,

then you slowly went away.

If only I could see you,

to share another day.

Your love was unconditional,

you were my shining light.

Your smile would brighten any room,

and turn darkness into light.

Your eyes always gleaming,

you always hid your pain.

Never showed us any sign,

of dark clouds or of rain.

The hands of time move quickly,

it's course we cannot slow.

You will never be forgotten,

I only wish I'd let you know.

Family Games

Total chaos
utter dissmay
our family's lives
day after day

she did this
he did that
look in the mirror
that's where it's at

point the finger
pass the blame
think only of ourselves
feel no shame

hurtful words
terrible names
thus is the process
of our family's sick games!

Cody Roy

When you came into this world I could not believe my eyes
a tiny little four pound thirteen ounce surprise
You came a month early no one expected you so soon
a bright and crisp December day just a little bit past noon

Now that you are bigger my tiny Cody Roy
I see that you’re a gift from God to fill my life with joy
You have a special persona like no other that I know
You always find a way to make your kindness show

Thank you for being you and don’t ever try to change
No matter if they call you weird or say that you are strange
The special place you hold in my heart will never ever be replaced
I’ll always be right beside you no matter what is faced

Desolate

I walked unaided
Down the desolate lane

A glimpse of a dewy heaven
A flash of the ancient times

My existence awakened indolent minds
My reasoning was not for them to know

It was a pondered idea a type of crossroad
Of the times of yore and modern reality

Although they knew nothing of our ways
Jealousy never prevailed - instead sympathy

What had befallen a careless mankind?
They knew not and curiosity never entailed

Their rejoiced souls rest satisfied
Their conscience inquired not

I turned back saddened by the present
I had to return though my spirit longed to stay

Backwards to what has been completed
Backwards to an enforced obliteration

I walked unaided
Down the desolate lane

A Poet's Mind

An emotional outlet
A chance to be free
My way of conveying
What’s happening in me

My thoughts trickle out
Of the ink in my pen
I keep writing so madly
As if there’s no end

A poetic expression
A story to tell
Sometimes it’s like heaven
Sometimes it’s like hell

Don’t sit and judge me
For my words have no voice
It’s a born infliction
Not of my choice

I may not hold conversations
Or have pictures to see
Just read what's in print
If you want to know me
