Night Breeze

Gazing at the stars
in a beautiful night sky,
she feels the silent wind
slowly passing by.

As the cool gentle breeze
caresses her skin,
it ruffles her dress
again and again.

As the waves from the ocean
cover the sand,
the wind sways her hair
as she brushes it with her hand.

She stands with a smile
in the light of the moon,
hoping the breeze
will come back soon.

The Night He Returned

Adam was a husband,
misused by a wife.
He was very sincere,
and slain with a knife.
Ann laughs at his funeral.
She snickers to the bank.
She escapes with his earnings,
and leaves his life blank.
Ann fooled him for jewelry,
gained his love by theft,
and hides his secret diary,
his only possession left.
She neglects his family,
has sex with his friend,
and is the only one who knows
how his life came to an end.
A night before eleven,
Ann turns on the light.
She reaches for his diary,
in the bookshelf to the right.
After pulling it out,
Ann opens its cover.
On the first page she sees,
her husband had no other lover.
While turning the page slowly,
Ann laughs out loud,
and continues reading on
with her pretty head bowed.
In haste, she grows silent,
staring a paragraph ahead,
stunned while reading
the following words in red,
“I knew you would read this.
I knew I would die.
I was always true to you,
and I never did lie.
You hated my family,
for no reason at all.
They really wanted to meet you,
but you wouldn’t even call.
While I was at work,
you had sex with Jack.
Your love for my friend
made you stab me in the back.
The night before you killed me,
you saw me in a dream.
I chased you through the forest,
to the narrow bloody stream.
I’ve told you my secrets.
There’s nothing else to see.
By opening my diary,
You’ve only summoned me.”
Ann glances ahead quickly,
but sees nothing there.
She looks all around her.
It’s the same everywhere.
Suddenly, Ann hears footsteps
creeping down the hall.
They sound very lightly,
like taps against a wall.
She backs away slowly,
shivering in fear,
staring into the doorway
as the footsteps grew near.
Finally she sees something,
and couldn’t breathe a scream,
eyeing an animal
she’d ran from in a dream.
It’s a huge black wolf,
with glowing red eyes,
showing its pointed teeth,
enormous in size.
Ann stumbles over a chair,
and falls to the floor,
staring into its eyes
as it stands at the door.
She has nowhere to run,
and no place to hide.
Ann gets up in trembles
as it steps inside.
As the animal creeps closer,
she backs to the wall.
Ann’s alone with this creature
standing three feet tall.
She drops her husband’s diary,
and it fell to the floor.
The book burst into flames,
and its smoke began to soar.
The wolf moves closer,
“Stay away!” Ann cries.
She screams, and it attacks her.
For this night, she dies.

Trust and Deceit

She cries all day,
and all through the night.
She weeps for her lover
who’d stormed out of sight.
They’d argued in anger,
saying things they didn’t mean,
about rumors of a woman
he’d secretly seen.
She stands near the lake,
being frisked by the wind,
thinking of the story
she’d heard from a friend.
A story of her lover
sitting in the park,
romancing some woman
just shortly after dark.
“Should I believe her.”
she whispers in a sigh,
seriously hoping
the tale is a lie.
She turns away slowly,
her eyes filled with tears,
dreading the end
to a love of many years.
She walks away weeping
and gazes ahead,
astonished with the presence
of her lover who’d fled.

He stands in silence,
just away in the grass,
with tears upon his cheeks,
his eyes shining like glass.
“I love you,” he whispers,
reaches out his hand,
holding a bracelet
with a sparkling gold band,
“Your friend asked me to leave you,
for an affair with her.
She only told you lies.
She was jealous how we were.
She came to me earlier,
confessing her shame,
then gave me this bracelet
engraved with her name.
Loving another woman,
is something I won’t do.
I told her my heart
is only here for you.
I saved this jewelry
so you can really see,
how deceiving your so-called
friend can be.”
She stares the bracelet,
and looks into his eyes,
realizing her friend
had only told her lies.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers,
and hugs him with a sigh.
He caresses her and says,
“I’m with you until I die.”

The Island In the Baltic Sea

A seaman sails east,
trailing the sight of dawn,
as the seagulls dance in the wind.

He stands with a smile,
watching them flutter
with their bright, beautiful blend.

The sailor is brushed
by a comforting breeze
while looking at an island ahead.

He stares it in silence,
with its ominous clouds
hovering with a glow of red.

Drifting closer,
he sees a woman
just standing in the island's sand.

She’s a georgeous lady
wearing a long white dress,
with a red rose in her hand.

After reaching the shore,
he leaps off the boat,
then the woman starts walking away.

He hurries to catch her,
then touches her shoulder,
and kindly asks her to stay.

She snatches his wrist,
and faces him quickly,
with a knife in her other hand.

She slashes his arm.
He yanks away swiftly,
then stumbles and falls to the sand.

Rushing to his feet,
looking over his shoulder,
he sees her skeleton face.

She rushes toward him,
and the seaman runs away
like a victim of a horrifying chase.

After climbing the boat,
he looks back to the sand,
seeing no one there anymore.

The only things present
were the rose of red
and beautiful white dress she wore.

His blood disappears,
the laceration heals,
and the island fades away.

Standing in silence,
he stares where she was,
wondering if he's gone astray.

The seaman returns
to the wheel of his ship,
and steers quickly to the west.

While catching his breath,
he looks back shivering,
fearing to continue his quest.

The Sea Princess

A ship sails west
in gusty winds,
in thunder and lightning
which heaven sends.

In battle with the sea
with storm bolts descending,
wind wrestles its sails,
its tall poles bending.

The captain of the vessel
eyes his crew of twelve in fear,
while they watch him struggle
with the clipper ship's steer.

The clouds are growing ominous,
blackening the sky,
now swirling together
around the vicious storm's eye.

As the lightning flash rapidly,
just missing the deck,
the captain steers vigorously,
trying to evade a tragic wreck.

Suddenly, a wave sweeps
the ship from behind,
and its enormous white sails
began to rip and unwind.

The poles snap quickly,
and propels away,
as the wind pushes the vessel
into a small deserted bay.

In haste, another wave
sweeps the deck again.
It forces the ship ashore,
and pulls its crew within.

The wave crashes the princess
into a giant gray stone.
And here she lay shipwrecked,
resting alone.

Confess Your Love

Show her your love
so she’ll know that you care.
So she’ll know if she need you,
you’ll always be there.

So she’ll know that you share
her mutual trust,
not just an attraction
powered by lust.

Show her your love
so she’ll learn to believe.
So she’ll know that there’s nothing
too great to achieve.

So she’ll know her endurance
will always go far,
with your love and support
wherever you are.

Raindrops

Small as a droplet
from a tearful eye,
while swaying with the wind
of an ominous sky.

Vastly dampening
crops in need,
being their crucial
way to feed.

Falling in a mist,
or pouring to the ground.
Sometimes soaring
without making a sound.

A part of nature
nurturing its own,
replenishing the land
so life can move on.

Tomorrow

Days ago.
I searched for love.
Yesterday,
I found it.

Today,
we've chosen to join our lives.
So tomorrow
will be forever.

Colleen

Ten years ago,
they began as friends,
appearing to be a gift
that heaven sends.

In the ninth, she felt lonely.
He was pushing her away.
The eighth was the same.
It was driving her astray.

She finally heard the truth,
a few years ago.
It happened seven times,
and he could’ve said no.

It’s been six years,
since their marriage went away.
But she will not ever
forget that day.

He tried five times
to regain her trust,
but she just couldn’t chance
the man’s hidden lust.

She’s found a new friend
after nights of tears.
They’ve been together
for nearly four years.

She’s escaped the life
of three in the scene.
Two that belonged,
and one named Colleen.

Drifters

They come from many
miles away.
Visiting places.
But never stay.

Spreading knowledge
to the ones they meet.
For money, food,
or shoes for their feet.

Speaking of several
lands they’ve been,
and others they plan
to explore again.

Changing directions
like the wind,
on a long journey
that’ll never end.
